The problem
A precedent bank is a folder of old documents.
That is storage, not knowledge management and not information governance. The knowledge stays trapped in the documents, scattered across matters and dependent on the people who remember where it lives. As new information is loaded in and as attorneys use knowledge cells, the system and users work together to flag knowledge cells that are unclear, incomplete, outdated, or wrong. Flagged cells are routed to a curator who checks it, edits it, and reestablishes the cell's verified status.
